Dream Your Enemy

Tangential to previous:

We have dreamed our enemies into being
We ground them down
We smashed their cities
We raped their women
We burned their houses
And beneath a thick layer of ash the evidence rests

We are hollow and confused
We are tense with expectation
For the world goes not our way
We get just half of what we ask for
(Though every year we ask for more)
We are opposed
We are obstructed
And our heaven is just in reach but they
They prevent

Who is it in our way now?
Our nightmares come again
Their cities rise from dust
Their women, they wield weapons
Their houses are rebuilt
Ash-blanket blows away

They are here before us
They are now our enemies
The final battle is at hand

And o how we will conquer
